$1,000 scholarship awarded to one young man (Bob Hughes Scholarship) and one young lady (Betty Ann Kempf Scholarship) currently enrolled in grades 8 through 11.

We Are CD Scholarship

$1,000 scholarship awarded to five catholic school students currently enrolled in grades 8 through 11.

The purpose of the Cardinal Dougherty Soccer Alumni is to remember, honor, and celebrate all aspects of Cardinal Dougherty Soccer Alumni. Another key goal is to give back to our surrounding soccer community and alumni members when financially possible.

These scholarships are named after the first coaches of the CD soccer programs and will be awarded to one young man (Bob Hughes Scholarship) and one young lady (Betty Ann Kempf Scholarship) currently enrolled in grades 8 through 11. To be eligible for the scholarships the student must be a child or grandchild of a CD alumni, play soccer and attend a Catholic school. The criteria to be considered for the scholarship is based on the student “exemplifying the qualities of education, volunteerism, dedication, good sportsmanship and team leadership”.

To apply for this $1,000 scholarship the student is required to submit an essay explaining how he/she demonstrates the criteria of this award as welll the importance of education in their lives. Also, please include contact information of one coach, one teacher and parent as well. Contact information should include: name, phone number and email address. Essays need to be no more than 1,500 words, and be written in a word document.

We are proud to announce the inception of the “We are C.D.” Scholarship. These FIVE will be awarded to five students. To be eligible for these scholarships the student must be a Catholic school student in grades 8th through 11th, be a child or grandchild of a Cardinal Dougherty High School graduate, be “a good role model, a positive influence in their community and work to her/his potential in school”. These applicants do not have to be soccer players.
